Just had my first ride on a 15cm 612 with the Activewave thingy.

Tried it on the pavement outside my house the night before and hated it, the obvious step at the back seemed really intrusive, but with padded shorts the next morning all seemed good.

My inclination was to move it back a wee bit but over the course of my ride ended up shuffling it forward and a smidgen more nose down. Despite being mounted at the same height as my Fizik Antares I still think I should lower it a bit (as per SQ instructions) as could feel it at back of calf when trying to hold a tuck into the headwind.

Not sure if I’d want one on the gravel bike too though, it seems to rely on you holding quite a stationary position on the saddle, not something I often have the opportunity to do on gravel!

Anyone else using one, anything to report? Ta

Use 611 and aside from the normal new saddle bedding in ie faff for the first week and finite adjustments, once there all good and have on two bikes.

Also 611, came as standard on my Liteville.

probably should have gone for a narrower one given that I’m a skinny shortarse as my seat is the widest version, but that notwithstanding I find it’s comfy (as bike seats go!!)

edit; apologies just saw you specified road/gravel. Mine’s mtb obvs!!

Yeah I’d be wary of the MTB versions, I find the nose of the 612 barely narrow enough, and the wings flare out just a tiny bit too gradually. I like the shape in profile but would prefer it more like the Antares from above.

Have a non cut-out 150mm Fizik on the gravel bike still so will keep running that as well, maybe the new Antares with the larger cut out might be the perfect compromise.

Not used one on Gravel or Road… But I have a 610 Ergolux on my eMTB and it has been a genuine gamechanger for me!

The stepped position feels odd at first, but with padded shorts on you stop noticing it, and what I do notice is that I can ride for hours and hours without any discomfort at all!

Obviously saddles are very personal things, but for MTB at least, I’m a convert…

Yeah, I expected the step to be more pronounced to be honest, I sort of imagined it would be like an ISM ‘pronged’ saddle but with the superfluous nose for aesthetics.

Definitely felt a curious sense of ‘freedom’ underneath the squashy bits lol
