- Spoke key for Mavic Crossmax SX
I’m trying to find the right (metal) spoke key for these wheels after the plastic one they supplied rounded off.
Any ideas where I can get one the right size?
I ordered an X-Tools one and the large end is too big and the small end is tool small.
Help from anybody else who was in this position would be appreciated. Thanks.Posted 4 years ago

there are two models – one for an aluminium alloy spoke, the other for a steel spoke – the steel spoke should be magnetic… the aluminium ones.. shouldn’t be – although it will depend on the alloy I guess 😕Posted 4 years ago
this may help

the steel spoke should be magnetic.
? not quite sure what the question is – steel is made mostly from iron, and magnets are attracted to iron so if its steel then it will be “magnetic” (as in magnets will stick to it). Stainless steel has other minerals in it, such as nickel which are also “magnetic”, but the iron on its own is enoughPosted 4 years ago

2008 or thereabouts….. Order one and should it not be correct, return it
Yep, that’ll be the old size then. The size changed in 2011 by the looks of things. I’ve already ordered that X Tools one in my link but it doesn’t fit. I think it’s the same sizes as the Park Tools one you mentioned.Posted 4 years ago
