The strength of this guy to fight that behemoth organisation for over 20 years while they tried to destroy him.

Much admiration for his work and all who collaborated with him.

Something I can’t get my head around here that the adversity was as a direct result of the behaviour of a ‘British institution’. And the process by which he received the award similarly previously recognised one (more??) of the key perpetrators of all the misery and suffering although I acknowledge it was rescinded.

Still, if he’s OK with it then so am I.

Me, I’d have told them to Foxtrot Oscar.

He deserves any honour, but wouldn’t it be nice if the establishment could also get on and mobilise their mates to pay the compensation that’s owed to thousands of SPMs, instead of watching as they battle it out with bureaucratic schemes and derisory offers?

Otherwise the knighthood is just a sop to public opinion to make it look like things are being done, while all the while the subpostmasters are dying off uncompensated.

Starmer/Sunak could win a few points just by overusing all the nonsense and just instructing payments.  Some may be over compensated but then compensation is pretty much an arbitrary number anyway so no such thing as over compensated really.

    And Sir Mark Cavendish.

Locally, an honour for the guy behind HUUB as well.

If IRC he has previously said he didn’t want one whilst Vennells still had hers. Her CBE was revoked earlier in the year. I get you point though and I presume he’s given it some thought and is ok with it. He doesn’t strike me as a man to accept something like that if he’s not happy about it

Had the same thoughts but he has said it’s another string to his bow to push to get compensation sorted, and he’s probably right, as usual.

For great disservice from the state?

He thoroughly deserves it but getting the post office and IT company to pay compensation and have directors answering difficult question in court would be better
