Recommendations for a side loading bottle cage please. Side loading that'll hold a 750ml bottle.

Not bothered what it's made from. Nothing crazy priced tho <£10

Bought one of the elite cushi ones from on one but can't even squeeze a bottle into it.

I use one of the Specialized ones - the Zee - and it's good as long as it's a Specialized bottle you're using, other makes can be hit-and-miss.

I've got a zee cage and use a 750ml high5 bottle with no problems.

yep, zee cages again, industry standard high five bottles go in fine and stay in. I recommend.

Check which side you want/need, as they're left and right specific.

Any recommendations for a left-handed one?
The zee cages are right hand withdrawal when mounted on the downtube...

Alloy Zee cage user here. Can confirm they work fine with high5 750ml bottles and Foska bottles.

You can get both left and right entry Zee cages.

Yeah, zee seem available both left and right. Think right probably best for me, but sure I could manage left too!

I think some Spesh ones can be rotated / adjusted for L/R entry. But some bottles eject..

Hopefully they work with the powerbar bottles as I've just bought 8. Anyone tried?

Zees are available in both left and right. I have two mounted to my Pact, one of each. I just use any bottle in them, no problems.

Got a couple of the Elite stainless ones. Never dropped a bottle. Got them second hand so no idea of price.

Just got a zee from sigma sports for £7.20. Left hand ones are £5. None in stock but selecting priority dispatch when the come in stock bypasses the £1.99 delivery fee!

probably a stupid question, but can someone tell me the reason for side loading bottle cages?

Small frames, shock placement, additional bags

Small frames, shock placement, additional bags

Often wondered how some of these bikepacking setups with frame bag and a bottle worked! 😳

I have two of the Elite side-loading cages on my Cotic X. They're reversible, so either left or right handed.

I find them easier to use than standard cages, so will use them on bikes where they're not needed now. On the X, both cages mount to the downtube and using these means I can fit two 750ml bottles.

Exactly that for me, pretty small triangle on the inbred 29er with a small frame bag and a lock holder on the seat tube means that a standard bottle cage on the downtube is a pain getting bottle in and out.

I have a BBB Sidecage and it's excellent. Very small footprint so good for restricted space in a full suspension frame. Aluminium, comes in black or white, left and right entry options, all at under £10.

Zefal. Adjustable for left and right side and also position on the frame within the range of the mount. Falls within price range.

Ali zee cage is a bit tight with Powerbar bottles. Better with High 5 or Specialised.
The plastic Zee cage I've got is a bit looser.
Don't underestimate how unnatural it feels if you buy the wrong handed cage!
