After a few flurries over the weekend, temperatures were up again today and snow levels have receded.

We’re hoping for something this weekend but it’s been a rubbish winter.

Forecast for this weekend looks pretty horrific, sea swell and pressure charts on magic seaweed look scary and it’s a high tide, pressure looks potentially lower than Bawbag!

Agreed. Wet. Warm. Wet. Wet. Wet. Warm. Wet.

Thick flakes and settling in Derby. Woohoo. Dry slope tonight if it sticks.

It’s been sleeting for a while here on the edge of Edinburgh but just started to look like lying, just in time for rush hour.

I’ve just had to get the spade and tow rope out to help a numptie in Fife who thought that turning off the main road, which was already an inch or more deep, onto a steep corner driveway with some momentum was a clever idea… She was then left blocking the road with front wheels stuck on the verge.

We had some sleet for about 5 mins at lunchtime. 144m up in the Surrey Alps.

    Sunny again now. Mmmm.

I feel it’s been quite inefficient here… Our road got really iffy last night then just at the point of maximum chaos it stopped and started thawing. Now it’s just come properly back on again at the point where most of yesterday’s was gone. Get your shit together snow, you’re embarassing yourself.

Went for a bit of a lower-level ride today. Tracks in the forests were mostly clear of snow, though with a few “entertaining” icy patches ready to trip me up. Another cold night so no great thaw yet. I’ll see what tomorrows weather is like and either head up higher or maybe take my planks for a slide.

Out for a last-minute overnighter last night. A lot of fresh, wet snow made it hard going.

A lovely dusting at Carron for today’s ride. Tomorrow looks rather interesting for North England and Central belt…

Gritters out in force in South Lanarkshire this evening….. they must know something the Met Office don’t.. forecast even up high here in EK is no frost and tomorrow a few sleet showers with temperatures properly above freezing.

Snow in Northumberland this morning. Starting falling heavily here just before rush hour. Total chaos ensued.

School bus didn’t make it so the eldest is home on a snow day.

Upper trails had a good covering, but it wasn’t that cold so it rapidly turned to wet sticky slush as you descended

We had around 4 inches in Harrogate (at least where we are which is at the top of the hill). It made for a lovely walk with the dog this morning.

Looks similar to the last (only) time I went through there on New Years eve 1987 on the way to a wild night in the Lairig Ghru Bothy
