    Morning,

any recommendations for websites (a continental Rightmove?) that advertise short term rentals?

the wife and I want to take advantage of remote working a little more and spend a few 3-month stints in other countries.

just looking for accommodation websites/tricks/tips. Don’t need visa/tax/regulation advice etc.

    cheers

Used to go for a month at a time to various out of the way places in the Alps. Try and search on the french or whatever Google page rather than UK, you’ll find better results

I would start with a broad sweep of accommodation, there are often clues as to a places own web site in the listing. Then contact directly

Villages often have a community website with links to accomodation I have found

French Airbnb , Italian Airbnb then use Google translate. Much better results

Basically search in the language of the country, learn the words for short term let etc.

Did a year between Tenerife, France, Cyprus, UK, mainland Spain.
I’m pretty lazy, but Airbnb for all of them. For me it was key to see good photos so I could view if there really was facilities to enable me to work. I need a good sized monitor for my job (spreadsheets, presentations etc).

You do end up paying more, but you get to check out the reviews and as mentioned they tend to be clearly photographed.Bills are all provided and a good portion of the adverts tend to include the wifi speed.

I’m probably going to similar towards the end of Autumn and early Winter.

Edited to add:- On AirBnB they do tend to give decent discounts for long term rentals. It still isn’t cheap as going private, but you know you can just turn up and everything will be ready and the bills are paid monthly.
