Shadow Foam – any other decent alternatives?

New Beta tool box at work, it needs Shadow Foam, multiple reasons but primarily because I’m a massive tart.

It will be hand cut, there’s 8 draws to do. Is there any other decent alternatives to Shadow Foam?

Having looked at it, no, not if you want something exactly the same.

Everything is much of a muchness and you have to really be ordering loads to get better value than direct from shadowfoam (Bigdug and a few others sell it but the delivery charge is ridiculous).

The actual product name is Kaizen Foam but again, Shadowfoam seem to have the monopoly.

Alternatively if you want something similar but not as convenient you can get hobby foam or camping mats and achieve similar results albeit with a lot more work involved. You pays your money and takes your choice.

And then spend hours digging round for the tool you need.

Being unable to spot at a glance what’s missing after tidying up etc. Both worth their weight in gold when your paying for your tools in your day job.

@joshvegas I was a skeptic as well. I’ve not done it yet but TBH the lack of faff is very appealing.

Camping mats worked for me to replace my socket set insert. It’s actually better than new now.
Spade bits on the drill make pretty clean holes through it as well.
