MegaSack DRAW - This year's winner is user - rgwb
We will be in touch
iv toyed with buying a frame and am keeping my eye out for one second hand.
Im 6'2 so reckon i need an xl, any owners here over 6ft?
Im riding an attack trail 150/160 and love it but its very 'bobby' even with pro pedal, is the nomad a bit more solid on the climbs.
Id be using it for local runs and trips to scotland for uplift days (inners) so bit of everything, not full on downhill but drops up to 7 ft or so.
Any horror storys or are they as good as the look?
cheers for any info
kendo
Short TT really puts me off the Nomad - I'd need an XL to get a decent TT, but then I'd be on a massive gate of a frame.
Intense Tracer 2!!! I expect the bob of ther attack trail is because its a single pivot..

Tracer 2 is heavy compared to the Nomad, and other than the legendary Intense build quality, I'm not sure what it has to offer.
I'm your height.
I needed the length of the TT on the Xl, but as honourablegeorge mentioned, I didn't need the bar gate seat tube that came with it.
The large was too short for me. It's about the same as most mediums. I sold it off a few months ago.
im used to a big frame, the large marin is a bit of a gate which to be fair feels a bit small as im always running a huge post on it, as is my 20" 456 😉
iv rode a large heckler and as said it felt more like a med.
build wise i take it the are sound? pedal well etc?
Pedalled well, fairly neutral ride, suffered a bit on choppy ground & took a while to get the shock to settle on a happy medium.
It's quite high, short & steep by relative current standards, but they are pretty tough.
Im 6`2" and i ride a Tracer 2. I find it to be just right for me and run a 50mm stem.I used to ride an Attack Trail which was nowhere near as good as the Tracer 2 and suffered from bob like you say. I dont have any of that with the Tracer 2.It climbs and descends very well but i dont know about the 7ft drops as i cant manage them. I did take it to the Alps this year and both the bike and i couped really well.
The front is quite low so i run it with a few stem stackers on.
6'0" and ride the large - feels just right and not like a gate 😆
Excuse for gratuitous Nomad shot??

I'm 6' 3" and not long sold my XL Nomad, not gate-like in the slightest.
Great bike, but ott for most trail centre riding.
The only track I don't think I'd manage on its replacement is the black at Laggan, but couldn't justify keeping it for that.......
what sort of weight roughly do they build up too?
id be running my 36 talas and xt kit, pro2 wheels etc
no horror stories?
Size up.
I'm 5'10 and went for a large.
Fit is spot on with a 65mm stem.
Build weight of low 30's with Fox air shock and fork, Crossmax SX wheels and XTR/XT mix drivetrain
Nobody said 'shi*****g dog' yet ?
markhw - very nice, mine wont be that 'BLING' 😉

Depends what you want it for I guess but I definitely found the one I rode too short, a good 20-30mm shorter than similar frames.
5'10" MED LARGE FELT WAY TO BIG FOR ME
