Hi,
on the hunt for new clear lensed glasses as my fauxley radars clear lens is now scratched after a couple of years abuse.

I have tried Bolle contours previously, but found they are a little low on the brow for my cycling style.

I have a set of Bolle Axis sunnies that are quite a nice fit and seem a little higher, but was wondering before I blow a massive £9 on a clear set, if there are any others I should consider?

I like the Bolle BL-10s, but lately I've switched to Decathlon's cheapest cycling glasses, they're a little more scratch resistant I think

bolle bandido's here, i really like the rounder shape as they cover more of my face - i can't see the edges.

£4 each.

I used to get free Bolles from work, but since I moved off site I've also switched to Decathlon's cheapest and they've lasted a couple of years. The plastic hinges go eventually but for 4 quid they're pretty good.

Got a couple of pairs of Bolle I ride in. Contours, agree with what you say about brow coverage. Got the tinted ones and they let a bit of light in when on the drops.
For good overall coverage have a look at the Silium ones. Come in clear or smoke. Tend to use these for off road as not fussed in they get trashed.

Bolle do a massive range so look at the other options. You could consider the other PPE suppliers - best just google.

The metal ones are a different fit. I find the metal contours much better than the plastic ones in terms of comfort and fit.

I'm very happy with a set of £25 UVEX glasses I replaced my Fakeleys with after I started wearing a new helmet that the older glasses would no longer sit under.

The fit and quality is so much better, £25 isn't crazy money if I trash them and it's a three lens set (clear, yellow and semi mirror). Plus they're actually compliant with European standards for stuff like UVA.

Bolle Silium glasses have much lower profile frames than the Contour.

Uvex pheos - can get a narrow head version that sit nice and tight too.

We had problems with the simple bolle ones breaking at the bridge and stopped buying them - look for small white lines within the plastic and if you see it dump them.

See if Aldi have any of their cycling glasses left in stock?

I got a pair of yellow lens & a pair of mid tint glasses at their last cycle deal day & they are brilliant.

As comfortable as any other glasses that I have worn - although I have never owned any 'expensive' riding glasses.

They might mist up a bit quicker than the Blocs when I come to a stop, but nothing too bad.

I've got some Uvex clear glasses that are nice, but I suspect that the actual lens part is from their safety glasses range, just with some more sporty looking arms stuck on.

Got some Belle Contours in the ESP finish which are great, more recently got a Pair of Bolle Rush+ which are even batterer.

Same great fit and comfort but virtually impossible so far to get condensation on, as the +model has some sort of Platinum coatings to prevent steaming up.[u]

A few choices here; http://uk.rs-online.com/web/p/safety-glasses-shields/6895889/
Mine don't have any brand name on them, we don't get the same ones all the time.
I usually pick my sunnies up in Morrisons or Foster Grant from Matalan 😉

I treated myself to a pair of Tifosi something's but they suffered with the same problem as all the other glasses I've tried, as soon as I start to climb the sweat drips off my brow and down the inside of the lenses. 😐

Bolle Silium glasses have much lower profile frames than the Contour

Meant they have better face coverage than the contours, eg higher on the eye brows 🙂

There's a pair of Bolle Silium on my desk in front of me, don't know who's they are, they've been there all week, they seem quite comfy and they're free from our stores.

Apologies for the thread revival, but I found it when doing a clear out of my old saved tabs. I bought myself a pair of Bolle Rush from SF, and they've far exceeded my expectations - very light, very comfortable, good wrap around coverage, they don't fog up (better than my more expensive sunnies) and I haven't managed to scratch them yet. Have used them for riding and kayaking and they've been great for both - no problems with sweat or watersplash. I reckon they even look quite cool

I'm probably going to get myself another pair (or two) for when I break or lose them, but actually quite tempted by the ones Trekster links to, as the only criticism I might have is they're not all that dark in the brightest sun

One thing I would very recommend is to get bolle's that have both the anti fog and anti scratch coating like on the spider model (which are brilliant) both coatings work really well as opposed to most cycling specific ones I've tried

I've used loads of work safety glasses as riding glasses. The bolle contours esp lenses are awesome I think. They're not a big lens but problem for me personally. They're really light and the esp lens dulls the bright light and are still perfect in the woodlands.
I've also tried dewalts yellow lens work glasses which are also good.

I can't justify spending hundreds on a pie of glasses the amount I fall off and break and scratch them. So I'll keep on recycling them from work to bike :p
