Just discussing old songs we like with my youngest, she couldn’t name a song, but she then said “you know, Chicken Bagel”.
Instantly I realised what I had done. When they were little I would make her and her sister a quick lunch, chicken pieces in a bagel was a common occurrence and when it was ready, rather than just give them their food. I would sing ‘chicken bagel’ which was in fact ‘prince charming’ by Adam and the ants with a number of lyrical edits… In her head now that song is forever about chicken bagels, I’ve ruined it.
Has anyone else knacked a song for a loved one?
