After the Zwift price increase I thought I would give Rouvy a go.

The setup I use is an Apple TV 4K, which ran Zwift with zero issues.

Have downloaded the ROUVY app, first issue was logging in, the Apple Remote just seemed totally unresponsive, ended up using the phone as a remote, but even with this it took many attempts just to login, try to use the programme and it seems that it just won’t work with the remote (touch pad version) or the phone, managed to navigate eventually to actually doing a ride, but this probably took 30 mins of swiping and taping the phone with no response, eventually the ride just paused itself and nothing worked.

    deleted and reloaded app

    latest Apple software

    fully charged remote and phone.

went back into Zwift and zero issues, remote works in every way on every other app.

Emailed Rouvy, there suggestion, use the touch pad not the arrows , remote is only touch pad, so not sure what they mean?

Anyone else using it with Apple TV, have you made it work?

can’t help with specific problem but the newer ATV 4K comes with a different remote which is way better & does have arrows. You must have the older version (Gen 1 or possibly gen 2?)

ah, yes it’s an original 4k one, odd that it’s just this it doesn’t work with (and the phone remote too).

might try a new style remote, but will see what Rouvy come back with.

We (three users) use Rouvy with an Apple TV 4k.  The older one with the touchpad remote.

It just works.  Lucky, as my wife (who would firmly agree) has no interest in solving tech issues.  She just jumps on the bike, turns on the TV, navigates to a route and starts pedalling.

The login occasionally expires and the password needs to be entered again.

Ive had no end of issues entering the username/password which it seems to want after every update – if you use a complex password its nigh on impossible with the remote. I normally copy the password from the phone password manager FIRST then try and trigger the password input via the iphone and paste the password in. If I don’t have the password ready to paste I seem to lose the window on the phone for the input….had same issue with Zwift but think they’ve resolved that bug now…though too late.

Generally I prefer Rouvy as far more variety of routes and riding with the bots is social enough for me (especially as they don’t drop me and weight dope). Learned yesterday you can add yourself as a “bot” to ride against your past self for pacing/training/testing.

Odd, it definitely doesn’t work for me, I have also tried it on another Apple TV in the house, with the same results, it’s like as soon as the app opens, the remote ceases to function.

did a google search for the issue, but nothing stood out, so must be a localised issue, but this is the only way I can run it.

I’ll be honest, I’ve not used Rouvy this year yet.  I’ve been unfortunate to be ill a lot, but fortunate enough to have had good weather when I was recovering so rode outside.  Anyway…

My wife used it this morning and I didn’t hear anything. Which I assume, perhaps incorrectly, means the remote must be functioning.  I’ll double check this evening when I’m in the workshop/Rouvy room.

Remote all fine here in Rouvy, before and after Apple OS updates.

I have sent two videos to the support team, one showing Rouvy (not functioning) and another showing Zwift with no issues at all. It’s a weird one, as I said it’s like the function of the remote just stops as soon as the Rouvy app is launched.

Sorted, I had a spare remote, so charged it up and it all works fine, very odd though as the other remote functions perfectly with every other app.

Rouvy have been very good, emailing everyday with questions and suggestions.
