How do you measure how racist or otherwise a society is?

But only because you’re watching the news and they’re showing you the awful things

The news is very selective and not showing the awful things. Top trending hashtags on Twitter has it though.

It’s also worrying that the level of people involved is rising – it doesn’t seem to just be the bottom of the barrel idiots and raging far right doing the rioting. And you get peaceful people protesting for the same causes. It’s good to see people standing peacefully against all this, but there are also groups of people standing violently against the original groups.

I maintain that it was a shit day overall despite having a lovely day myself.

The shame of it is we’re pretty much the least racist society in the world.

Certainly one of the very least in the world. 41% of Londoners were born outside of the UK, I don’t think there is a capital city anyway in the world that can match that.

If you were to add all the Londoners whose parents were born outside the UK to that number I think it is probably safe to say that the majority of Londoners are either immigrants or the children of immigrants.
