about as rigid as a flip flop.

Only one strap so probably not very tight, or if you tighten them enough, not very comfortable and cut off circulation to your toes.

On the other hand I find roadie shoes (like everything roadie) fit is far more important than the logo as you don’t move arround so much and spend far longer actualy pedaling. So if they fit properly then they’ll be fine for cruising arround, but that single strap would put me off from hard efforts as I’d not want to do it up too tight.

    They’re white, so it’s a good start.

I like my shoes to have a rachet mechanism to do them up nice and snug.

Stop any heel lift or movement that I expect you would get on those.

I’d expect to pay 75-125 for a good set of road shoes.

Why not buy a new pair of DHBs?

Shimano R087, bargain price £55 and leagues ahead of those shows you’re looking at. If they don’t have your size just go to Evans and get them to price match.

I have THESE. Proper carbon sole, rigid as. Got them for £30 off eBay. No problems with comfort or fit. Uppers are a bit tacky but they’ll do the job until I can justify a pair of Sidis.

Those last ones don’t look like they have much by way of adjustment. Can’t say I’d be terribly happy with cleats I couldn’t reposition.

The adjustment is in the cleat, not the shoe. Not like an off-road shoe.

Durr… sorry… my mistake. Odd as I only got my new road shoes 2 weeks back.

If anyone has size 44 feet, these are a bargain.

If you’re a bit of a minger and you’ve only got £25 to spend, then get some 2nd handers off ebay. I got some fancy shimano race shoes with a full carbon sole for about £22 the other month.

I bought some entry level Spesh road shoes and have been pretty happy with them. I struggled with the fit of the Shimano R077’s that I originally wanted. I found them a bit wide for my skinny feet.

Odly I cant fit into Shimano (too narrow) but like spesh, I think it’s to do with where the widest point is as the spesh still pinch, just in a different place.

I went up 2 sizes (4 if you count the half sizes) on Giro road shoes from my bontrager ones

If you search eBay, there’s a shop called Active Human near Halifax.
They were selling Scott’s top end Premium road shoe for 80 quid in selected sizes, that’s something like 60 per cent off.
Friend of mine got a pair; amazing for the money.

Not bad, aslong as you’re not planning on riding any sportives!

I popped into Sportsdirect yesterday, so had a look at these shoes. They are rubbish. You can bend the whole shoe almost as much as a normal shoe. I then tried that was my Northwave Road shoes and they wouldn’t move at all.

I guess they’d be very flexible and possibly uncomfortable on long rides?

i tried your bend test with some of the muddy fox mtb shoes and they were stiff as hell!
