Meiringen is a nicer (and sunnier) place in the valley than Innertkirchen. Also slightly better connected if you want to do other Berner Oberland stuff (Brienz, Interlaken, Lauterbrunnen, Lucerne etc). Nothing particularly wrong with Innertkirchen, but it just feels like a small road junction village with limited shops / food / accommodation options.
The two are linked by a little single carriage railway (called MIB) if you do want to nip between them without riding over the lump of rock that splits the valley.
I’d second that Grosse Scheidegg is a nice ride and the top bit is traffic free apart from the post buses. Grindelwald is a bit of an international tourist overload compared to the quieter Haslital valley you have ridden from.
