Friend of mine wants to convert a Genesis road bike with Tiagra gears into a flat bar bike.

He has bought all the kit on ebay and I am fitting it for him. I have fitted the brake levers (called Atlas or something) and they have quite a ‘wooden’ or ‘on/off’ feel with the Tiagra caliper brakes.

Would the offical Tiagra Flat Bar brakes be any better?

    Cheers!

He’s probably inadvertently bought v-brake levers – which pull mpore cable and fell wooden (oo-er) with less power.

Identifiable by the the pivot being further away from the line of the cable.

    Get Tiagra/Sora etc
