Ridley bike sizing

Has anyone got any experience with Ridley sizing? I’m looking at the Kanzo C Adventure to Replace my Scott Solace as a more all round winter / gravel bike, but I’m struggling with the sizing. I’m 6′ 2″ or 186cm tall and ride a 58cm Cervelo, 58cm Scott Solace (and a Large Bronson). I’ve had a bike fit in the past end up on 58cm frame. I could ride a 56 but it would be maxed out in terms of saddle height and stem length/spacers.

Going by the stack and reach measurements on the Ridley site I would have picked the XL. If I use their frame sizer on their website it puts me on a L. Having spoken to a shop they said I’m borderline M / L. The stack and reach of the M and L are both less than the Solace, and the Solace is squarely in endurance geometry so not very stretched out.

Ridley Kanzo sizing is really odd. I ride a L in mtbs (Transition and Genesis) and L gravel bike (Titus) but my Kanzo is a S and it is bang on. Can’t remember what size I normally ride for a road bike.

I am 5’9”, think I have longish legs hence going for a L.

I would try one out if you can. My S is not small by any means, not much post showing, reach was bang on for me with a 100mm stem.

What Beefy said, definitely try one. They size up really long and tall.

Bizarre sizing, I got measured up for a Ridley CX bike years ago by the Ridley rep, I’m six two and ended up with a 52cm.

Ok – had a few Ridley bikes – I’m 5’ 9’ and I’ve always been fitted to a small at the dealers bike fit service.
Always felt great – also ride cervelo Aspero and R5 in 54.

As above Ridleys come up on the large side.
I have three “Large” bikes but my Ridley Noah is a Medium.

Those stack numbers are interesting – adventure bike that’s lower than a fairly sporty road frame
Fits with what you see in pro cross racing where they (women particularly from what I’ve noticed) seem to like a load of spacers. I guess that’d make them feel “long” for their sizing even if everything else matched ?

I’m usually a 58/xl kind of guy but have gone with a large kanzo fast, I’ll let you know what it’s like in march when it arrives. Looking the charts it seems they have less smaller size options.

Ridley’s measurments are normally consistent across the ranges and over the years it’s just they have always been a size out with the names they give stuff. A Ridley medium is always everyone else’s large. Had a few ridleys but not sat on a kanzo sadly but seen a few in the flesh they are lovely but looking at the chart it’s pretty standard Ridley sizing just go down a size.

If my Fenix was anything to go by, go a size down.

Thank all for the feedback. I’ve settled on a large, one size smaller than my ‘normal’ size. My inside leg is 89cm and judging by the comments above one size smaller is the way to go. I don’t mind the reach being a bit less on a gravel bike, but I’d rather not run 50mm of spacers if I can help it, which I suspect is what will happen on a medium.

Large seems a good choice, but note while the reach is less, the effective TT is slightly longer on the Kanzo – I doubt it’ll feel less stretched out. Well within the ‘tunable range’ afforded by stem choice and sliding saddle fore/aft.
