We’re struggling to find in a myriad of options somewhere to stay in Cornwall

wants to be near a beach for walks – so not having to get the car out every day to get there

bars / restaurants / cafes nearby preferable within walking distance

don’t want to be right on top of it especially being half term week and kids everywhere but still a little hustle and bustle

it doesn’t matter where it is in Cornwall as we’re just struggling at the moment to narrow down somewhere to stay then concentrate on accommodation

    any help much appreciated

If it just 2 adults then I can really recommend this place in Marazion, overlooking St Michaels mount.

Just far enough out of the village to avoid being mobbed by tourists but just close enough to walk down there easily. Access to an almost private beach – public but everyone goes to the main Marizion beach.

I preferred Falmouth to St Ives when we went a couple of years on the trot. Still busy, but a proper port town rather than just touristville.

Stayed in padstow a couple of years ago, really lovely town with walks, beach, swimming , bike and kayak hire, pubs,  restaurants etc

we stayed at tregella farm cottages, renovated farm buildings. Field view where we stayed was beautiful, can’t copy a link for some reason. Medium length walking distance into town, partially off road from memory.

Did a week in Sennen Cove in April and really liked it. A decent pub, cafe and small store, though you’d probably want to pick a good food shop up in Penzance on your way past. Walking distance to Lands End, a short drive to Mousehole and Newlyn for super seafood.

If tis a beach holiday then Hayle has probably the most beautiful beach which is hardly used due to it’s proximity to the more popular St Ives. It’s got some bars and cafes and if you fancy a trip I to St Ives it’s a 10 minute drive.
Sennen also highly recommended, but a bit quieter than Hayle.
I’ve spent my life holidaying in Cornwall, it’s beautiful all along the coast, but south Cornwall is my favourite.

A walk from the lizard to kynance on a sunny day is paradise.

We stayed in Charlestown a few years ago – it was great.

Restaurants, pubs, nice beaches, walks, history, great harbour wall to jump off! Close to Eden Project and not as busy as the pointy bit of Cornwall.

I really like Bude as well.

IMO St Ives is a bleedin nightmare – way to crowded in holiday season.
