Check out a Danish band called Volbeat. Not totally heavy metal as such. More like a mix of 80s thrash, rockabilly & Elvis. Sounds pants, but works really really well.
All albums are immense. But for me my favourite is Guitar Gangsters and Cadillac Blood.

I’d say Sabbath every time but didn’t really think they met OP requirements. Can still find new and interesting sounds in them now. Supernaught on the way home from work tonight sounded amazing.

I misread and thought he said more Metaliica and less Slipknot. Opposit of what I enjoy to be honest.

Some shoutyish bands I enjoy, Stone Sour, As I Lay Dying, Lamb of God, Slipknot, Municipal Waste, Mastodon.

I’d take my original suggestions over them any day though.
