Recommend me an cordless electric foil shaver

there’s a plethora of options from 15 quid to 500 ! Bonkers

Am after a foil leccy shaver, waterproof,  cordless (ideally usb-c charge, but the old style 2 pin still seems to be the most popular)

all I’m after is a comfortable and super close shave

A lot of the models all look the bloody same too, apart from the model id.

any recommendations from  STW?

im quite enamoured with the attachments for the nose as well as the exfoliator.

Used Brauns for years. Think the current one is a series 5. They come up on offer on a semi regular basis. Easily the most comfortable shave IMO.

I didn’t realise how much electric razors cost. Read through a load of the reviews linked above, followed some links through to Amazon and £280! >shocked emoji<

I’ve had stubble/short beard for the last 5+ years, used to wet shave occasionally before then. Now my son is old enough I went to teach him how to wet shave (in the classic Dad way even though he’ll probably just go off and watch youtube tutorials) and ended up taking the top off a mole on my face that took nearly 3 days to stop bleeding. It must have grown a quite bit since I last clean shaved.

I didn’t hate being clean shaven, and now have aged enough that I don’t look like a 12 year old when I do, so am considering getting an electric razor to avoid future mole shaving incidents. It’ll definitely be at the budget end though. Even the budget ones he reviews are still £80.

Main reason for looking was got fed up with the unshaven stubble look.

I’ve had a Braun series 7 for years. I don’t treat it very kindly, sometimes don’t shave for a few days, and it just works. Would buy again or upgrade.

This thread has spurred me to try electric shaving again as recent surgery has made wet shaving tricky. The recommended cheaper option Braun series 3  340s is down to £53 from £110 on amazon at the moment so I’ve gone for that… should arrive today, will see how it goes. Much like people above I normally wet shave every few days mostly cos I CBA every day, but it’d be nicer to be more clean shaven.

In a parallel universe, forum users of electricfoilshavertrackworld are wondering why bikes are so expensive 🙂

Update on the 3040s for £53 from Amazon: it buzzes, removes hair from my face efficiently and gently. It struggled a bit with a four day growth to start with and missed a few hairs, but settling down to a quick buzz every morning is giving a nice shave with little effort, just quickly pulling off the blades, tap the hair out in the sink, rinse and set aside.

On average this is keeping me cleaner shaven with less effort than before, so I guess plus one to the reviews linked above for anyone after a budget option. Cost less than a year of wet shaves would and claims 18mo for the blade cartridge.

Caveat – don’t think I have particularly sensitive skin.

Brain Series 3, cheap, works, replacement heads available from Amazon.

I’ve been using a Braun Ser 3 when not using my artisan Damascus steel DE razor blades, unicorn horn holder, and ethically sourced Badger Tadger hair brush. It’s okay for about a day or so of growth. But after that, it’s a bit shit. But it is less irritating on my skin, and it is pretty good at cutting the hair short. If you tend to go for a day or so between shaves or it grows fast, you may want to look for something with a better, longer hair trimmer.

DE razor or Gillette Sensitive for wet

Braun S5  – Good, but lost in baggage and expensive foils.

Now have a Anders? balding foiler shaver, a bit like the Whal Pro & Phillips Body groom 3000/5000 with a foil shave.

Braun. Get the hundred quid one in-the-half-price-sale-that-always-seems-to-be-running-somewhere for fifty. ?
