Thanks again for all the input … the plumber finally came – couldn’t find an isolation supply valve/tap, so he’ll fit one, plus replace balance valve, hopefully this week. And then hopefully it’ll recharge! I’ll update once he’s done…
That lever valve looked well dodgy – I’m sure that wasn’t OE!
I’m sure you were right about the location of the isolation valve – it was just a slightly weird place to put it and the installer obvs didn’t have the right parts so made do.
Finally all sorted – plumber thought some of the placement of valves etc was odd, and the isolation valve was downstairs and didn’t work, but he’s replaced the balance valve, put in a sensibly placed isolation valve and all seems to be well … thanks for all the help. Neighbour much happier!
