    Hi

Am looking at getting a set of wheels up for sale here on STW, the rear has a XD driver, spec is: 26 inch wheel set
Black Hope Pro 4 hubs 32 hole with XD driver

My question is can I use Shimano 11 cassette, rear mech, shifter etc ?

Or does it all have to be sram ?

Is there any way to replace the sram driver with a Shimano one ?

Am hoping the STWgurus can assist here – before I make a costly purchasing mistake 🙂

    Thanks

XD driver will need an XD cassette.

    Everything else is fine.

And yes, usually you can replace XD freehubs with Shimano.

You must replace the XD driver with a regular one; I would go for the steel one to avoid the cassette chewing into the splines.

Thanks otsdr – what do you mean by regular one ? Is that Shimano or a generic ?

“Regular” as in non-XD. It is compatible with either Shimano 8-11spd cassettes, SRAM 8-10spd, Microshift… and so on.
Hope have them available in either aluminium (lighter) or steel (stronger).
