That’s interesting dangeourbrain. The bolt does feel remarkably stiff when tightening and removing. I was worried I was cross threading it but having installed and removed a couple of times it seems that’s just how it is.

On another note, did anyone find crank boots to fit these? I tried some raceface ones but they were too small.

I had Sram ones on mine I think – though they might have been cheap ebay jobs tbh

They look like the same ones I got from Merlin that didn’t fit. They have quite a round end but the xtr is very square so it deforms so much that the holes don’t align. Maybe there are different sized ones.

I did get them to fit my slx cranks though.

There are some square ended ones on ebay – https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/363776569165

Doh, back from holiday and started to fit the cranks, but they’ve moved the bloody instructions and I can’t find them

    Edit// think I’ve found it.

I’m pleased this thread has popped back up, I’d been looking at that SLX chainset at Wiggle (now £85) for a single speed build I’m planning, but after much unsuccessful googling still wasn’t sure it was boost (which I need). 😀
