Even if you don’t like fishing, it’s a great bit of telly.

    Sunday 13th, 20:10

Great programme, some of the best TV made at the minute.

Although it really annoys me that 3rd series in and Bob Mortimer still can’t hold a rod properly.

Did anyone watch Romesh on the Hebrides after it? I thought it was great

    Luvly.
By contrast I can’t stand Romesh.

Romesh was good afterwards, and I’m not his biggest fan. I may check out the musical works of Peat and Diesel as a result.

Was ace and had me all misty eyed for home as I’m from near Saltburn, but living in Shetland for 11 years as of this weekend.

Happy to see the parmo got a look in, but no red cabbage and garlic mayo?!

Beautiful TV once again, perfect Sunday afternoon fair.
Romesh was good too, and you could feel the fella showing him around warmed to him as the programme went on.

Best nights viewing for a long time. Loved the look of the Parmo that Bob made!
Enjoyed Romesh too but I like anything about the Hebrides.

I enjoyed it , and it’s possibly the best Xmas special that I’ll watch this year, but……. why do program makers insist on trying to make a Xmas special at the wrong time of year and pretending it’s December? The trees were still almost in full leaf, only just turning brown, and they even commented on catching an ‘out of season’ fish. Why pretend?

    Talking of out of season…

I can appreciate nature in all all wonderful moods but I really wish they did a height of summer special. Where EVERY shot was glorious sunshine, fishing until there’s no light left on a summer’s eve or getting up super early with the sun just rising.

Anyway thats a minor quibble, wonderful program … I felt sad for little Bob when he went back to his family home.

Did you see the other episodes from the last few series? There’s idyllic fishing galore that would meet your requirements.

I love Bob and Paul but yet to watch the Christmas special . On the subject of Romesh all his travel shows have been really good. The best being the Columbia where the guide was utterly gorgeous , Also check the one in Zimbabwe . He really chooses his guides well.

Cracking bit of TV … but FFS Bob why are you still letting go of the rod when you cast? Somebody please teach him how to do it properly!

Watching it now – not very covidy so far unlike the last series – sharing cars etc. Was it filmed last year or something.

Don’t think so, that’s why the final bit was quite touching as presumably Paul would have been spending the year with them (trying not to include a spoiler)

Easy enough for a slightly longer filming schedule for them to pre-isolate and test and then be close to each other. They stayed well away from their pub guest.
