Cracking plan. Is it on a pizza stone?

Think I’ll be giving that a spin tomorrow.

Aye, usually use the pizza stone in the oven. First one had a burnt underside, left them in a bit less time after that, lovely. Get your coals almost ready, lid on, vents open, leave for 20 minutes to build up the heat and slide pizza on, I use a thin Ikea chopping board with semolina flour on it, so it slides off easy.

See, if it had a top and had woon not coal, it would actually be almost a pizza oven!

Real pizza ovens are so hot, they cook a pizza in about3-4 mins, not 12 of your oven at home. I guess a bbq is the same – Base gets hot through and crispy and cheese melts quickly befor the veggies/meats over cook.

    Good one.

That looks terrible…the crust looks anaemic! Pizza is supposed to look like this:

Thank you Rusty – Richpips has promised to build me a pizza oven in the back yard…. If I ended up with a BBQ and a pizza stone I would be miffed. A good idea for camping though. I like the crust finish – what recipe for the dough?

    I bow to you.

    Tasted awesome though.

Any excuse to fire up the BBQ is good in my book plus the space around the rim can be filled with more meat, win.

    More is more.

Good effort though – have fancied a go at this since I got a Weber.

No beer in your fridge and no meat on your pizza, very sad indeed.

You could get someone to do a film of you, a la Oxfam, ‘Just £3 a month etc etc….’

A wood fired pizza oven cooks in less than 90 seconds!
