I've got a set of Pikes that I'm pretty sure I want to sell to get some Argyle forks instead. I'm wanting to use the forks for my street/dirt jump bike. I've fitted my Pikes with the x-firm spring and found that they still blow through the travel very quickly.

So, who out there has had good experience with coil Argyle forks, and do you find that the spring rate is stiffer than x-firm coil Pikes?

My Pikes are wound down to 100mm of travel, and I would be looking to get Argyle RC forks at 100mm. Just need to know if they'll be stiffer than what I've currently got.

Thanks in advance for your input!

I'd only get argyles if you break the uppers on your Pikes. it's practically the same fork, pretty sure a mates Xfirm Argyle feels about the same as my Xfirm 95mm Pike.
how heavy are you?
any chance your moco damper's ****ed? (leaking from the top aduster? and lacking compression damping) had one do this and it blew through it's travel on take-off transitions far too easily for an Xfirm spring. no other issues with the damper.

I don't break uppers, and I'm about 190lbs. and I don't do anything huge. My damper's fine, it doesn't blow through the travel that bad, but just way more than I'd want for street riding.

I'm pretty sure Argyle springs are firmer than the x-firm spring for Pikes, but I just need somebody to back that up.

Doesn't look like it.

wound coil spring rates are not always equal tho. I have 2 pikes both have X-firms in and one is def firmer.

You'd be better getting an air spring fitted in your pike. maybe someone would be willing to swap internals with you.

Thanks for that. There is a chance thought that the Black spring for the Argyles is firmer than the Black for the Pikes. I'd rather keep with coil....don't want to worry about air for street riding.

Try some heavier oil in the damper circuit, it will slow the compression down a bit, make sure you wind the rebound off to stop it packing down though.
