I woke up to an email from 'paypal'. (service@paypal.co.uk) saying that I had made a payment just shy of £100 to someone I'd clearly never made a payment to.

Usually my email filter discards these sorts of emails but I always check their authenticity by going to the paypal.com site.

So I try to go straight to paypal.com in either via google or the direct URL window and I can't access the paypal.com home page. I don't recognize the layout of the log in window so am fearful to insert my username and password.

Quick edit, I'm directed here https://www.paypal.com/uk/webapps/mpp/home

I've crosschecked it with both my iPad and phone and they both lead me the same route.

Should I be worried?

PayPal home page looking like this for me - if that helps??

If you are unsure of your PC, pass me your username and password and I'll have a look for you 😉

That is the right address. It is a new-ish layout though (May?) You can be pretty confident with https sites because you can examine their security certificate.

Log in and check whether the email you got was legit or not.

Thanks folks

EDIT no signs of any payments I haven't authorized, phew.

For a techno luddite stuff like this freaks me. I'm much happier with a paint brush or a splitting axe in my hands. I can just about manage to distinguish between the two.

he he - you're really trying to work out what all my favourites are?? Glad there's nothing 'interesting'!!!

Drupal is a web content framework and Pantheon (get pantheon.com) are really quite good at providing a Drupal specific dev & hosting environment.

I've got the same email, just shy of £100, so I would say its a scam.
