I need some new tyres for my gravel bike, but I can't decided. I really wanted some Vittoria Terreno Dry's, but can't find any in stock for a sensible price, or delivery time frame. I can find Panaracer Gravelking SK and Michelin Power Gravel's for around £30, I've not used either. Does anyone have any opinions on either of those...?

I have the gravel kings SKs. They're pretty good. Seem to wear pretty well and strike a good balance between being OK on the road, good on unpaved and rideable on damp / muddy surfaces. I've not had much luck with the tubeless, although it could equally be a rim problem.

Recently got gravel kings and surprised by how good they are on and off road
Running tubeless on DT rims with no issue

I have 43mm Gravel Kings on Hunt Carbon Wide rims. Tubeless no bother at all, pretty good off-road in anything but mud.
When it was very wet in Jan/Feb I bought some Richey Megabites In the hope that they'd be better in mud. Ok with tubes but blew off the rims when I tried tubeless.

We use the Panaracers and really like them as a great allround gravel tyre. I javnt used the Michelin but their mtb tyres are very good. Beware of sizing on the Panaracers, my 42 (or 43) on hunt 4 season rims come up to at least 45mm.

I've used my gravelking sks on lots of different surfaces and in lots of different conditions. They are great. I wouldn't consider anything else for my gravel bike now.

@k1100t What size Gravel King SK's are you after?

I have a pair of 700 x 40's that have had very light use and would happily sell on to someone that would use them; the only reason they're not on a wheelset is because I have a pair on a new 650b wheelset I treated myself to as an incentive to get out on the bike again this year - and its worked!

@househusband I bought a pair of 700 x 43c before you posted, so you might want to hit up @toby+mc. Thanks for the offer though!

I've used both and power gravel on the bike right now. Pretty hard to choose between them for me. The power gravels had more volume, the gravelking a gripier compound. Go for the cheapest imho!

Gotta say i binned my Gravel kings after a few rides nothing but punctures and the tread isnt aggressive enough for anything more than a bumpy road I pretty much hated them. Month or so ago I got these https://teravail.com/tires/rutland and they are amazing even took my bike down to blue trails today running tubes and didnt get a puncture.

@joepud

Was that the vanilla Gravel Kings or the Gravel King SK's..? They're very, very different tyres and I'd agree with you on your conclusion on the former.

Just tried 35mm GravelKing AC instead of the 43mm SKs. I got them cheap and I hoped they'd be better in mud. The AC is short for All Conditions, and they are a bit knobblier than the SKs, but they are still absolutely useless in mud. I think they might be a bit faster on the road - they're quite a bit narrower and have to run at higher pressure. I'll try that tomorrow.

I had Gravel Kings and thought they were ace. Smooth rolling on road and surprisingly grippy off, out performing mates with much more aggressive tread. Had no problems at all.

I'll be getting some more when I get a new bike.
