Will I get clobbered for import duty, VAT etc? It's a .co.uk site, prices in £s, but I note that at checkout it says 'Shipping to the UK' - has anyone bought anything from there and how did it go?

TIA

You might get pwned.

Yes, I got caught out with that and the high shipping prices which made the whole thing a lot more expensive.

Subtotal £177.65
Express Shipping to UK(2-5 Business Days) £13.47
Import duties £7.65
Sales tax £39.76
Total £238.53

I ended up cancelling the order before it was shipped and got the same thing from MTB Riders at a much better overall price - https://mtbriders.co.uk/collections/pnw-components.

Thank @chaos, that's just what I feared. I'll try to find a UK supplier.

I used mtbriders too, no complaints with the service.

Don't know if this helps: I was after a PNW Pine dropper. As far as I could see, it's the same as one of the Tranz-x droppers, I found one from an ebay seller, posted same day, with me 2 days later.

Thanks Ned. I am after a 27.2mm 125mm drop Rainier, there doesn't seem to be a Tranz-X equivalent to that. Almost all of the UK PNW suppliers seem to be out of stock, and no-one with stock of the post has stock of the levers, but I think I can get one from elsewhere.

I quite like PNW stuff. MTB Riders have always been spot on when they can get the stock.

I think £135 is the limit before getting hit on duty and fees.

Biketart and MTB riders seem to be the main players for PNW when i was looking at seatposts.

Got my PNW stuff from MTBRiders. I cocked up the order, they sorted out quickly and efficiently. Great shop, would happily deal with them again.

Having said that, BikeTart are also my go to shop, so would happily get from them as well!

Neither BikeTart nor MTBRiders had the 27.2mm post in stock. Ended up ordering the post, lever and I-Spec EV clamp from Traildogz, who I've never done business with before, so fingers crossed. It's for my Scalpel HT after trying the new trails at Newbold Comyn,  Leamington and getting smacked in the arse by my saddle on some distinctly non-rollable jumps 🙂 In the meantime I'll use the Jeffsy, which has a dropper.

Top marks to Traildogz! Everything arrived today, very well packaged, and a decent price.
