OneUp dropper lever

Just ordered a V2 from merlin, I was assuming I could just use the X-fusion manic lever already fitted, but it suggest I should use one of theirs.. Are they just trolling me, or do I need to spend another £40 for their fancy lever.

As long as your X-Fusion lever clamps the cable, it’ll work fine.

I suspect X-fusion will be fine. I use a PNW lever with a one-up post.

We have one on the latest Enduro. All our others are either Reverb AXS or Specialized Command levers.

Both are by far better than the OneUp. It just feels flimsy and has to much of a reach on it

It’s been used for 2 weeks in the Alps but the lever will be swapped out once we get round to it.

Probably just preference. Might even swap the post out for the spare Manic one

The X-Fusion dropper cable on my Kenevo SL was attached at the seatpost end rather than the lever end (the OneUp is a lever end attachment (unless it can be run as both)). I can’t fathom why you’d design it that way, it makes maintenance so much more fiddly.  You need to check this as if it is as mine was then you need a new lever (OneUp or any other which attaches lever end) (the most common way)).

Not sure what version of the OneUp lever Tracey is using, but the latest iteration of the OneUp lever is miles better than the Xfusion lever (and the Xfusion post was also rubbish (went back under warranty within a couple of months and now a spare (replaced with a OneUp).

The OneUp what came on a 2023 Enduro Expert. Our Manic posts came with Command post levers with the bikes.

I can confirm what razorrazoo says. My manic dropper clamped the cable at the bottom of the post whereas my V2 clamps at the lever. I think you’ll need a new lever. The one up lever has been fine for me.

The latest OneUp lever is fantastic

I’ve got the V2 and V3 OneUp lever. The V3 has a noticeably better throw distance and the replaceable rubber thumb grip feels nicer. Would definitely recommend over the V2, but the V2 wasn’t bad per se.

Also have the original Wolf Tooth remote which I used to use with a Brand X post and that was the smoothest / best feeling combo lever I have used by far, but the Wolf Tooth doesn’t seem to play as nicely with my OneUp post.

No love for the Shimano dropper lever ?

I have a OneUp lever and a Shimano – like them both. Definite improvement on the X-brand one I had before (fiddly is my recollection).

I have a shimano lever on my park bike, it’s better than the x-fusion and brand x levers but not a patch on the OneUp (though it was half the price). I find it sits a bit close to the bar for my liking and also is not available with SRAM matchmaker if that’s your thing.

I use the inline Bontrager lever on the OneUp V2 dropper and it’s just as good as the OneUp V2 lever and half the price

hmm, it definitely was sounding like I’d need a OneUp lever, but rascal’s post has put the cat amongst the pigeon’s.. I’ll wait for it to arrive and order a new lever if needed, as i’m just trying to go up from a 170 to a 210 drop, so have already have a working dropper.

You don’t need a fancy lever but it can be nice. FWIW I wouldn’t pay full price for the OneUp V3 but fortunately they have sales quite often

yeah I thought £280 was a step too far, just to try a longer dropper, but as I couldn’t find any brand-x 200m droppers, I paid the £150 for a v2 from merlin.

Plenty from me. Better than the Oneup V2 I had or than the Fox.

Its main issue is that it’s too cheap. People often associate price and quality with dropper levers.

Using a Wolf Tooth and BikeYoke lever on different bikes with OneUp posts. Had a Oneup lever, it was rubbish

I’m using a Shimano Deore lever on my V2. Works well once all the cable slack is pulled through. I had to use pliers to pull the cable tight enough. But it’s been fit and forget since then

Best dropper lever I have is a ztto which was from memory £15. Significantly nicer than any of the standard ones on my droppers (brand x, race face, reverb) and nicer than the Bontrager aftermarket lever.

Definitely doesn’t need to be a OneUp lever. I’ve got 2 V2 posts, one with a Wolftooth lever (because purple) and one with a Shimano. Both work fine. The clamping on the shimano is minimal faff and If I-Spec is your thing, you gets quite a bit of adjustment.

Ive run two One up droppers with a Wolftooth lever, no issues activating or dropping the seat using the Wolftooth lever, as long as the lever has the right cable attachment to suit your dropper then any lever should work

The two One up posts i had ended up being returned as they creaked/clicked in the frame when sat down and pedalling, didnt happen when i fitted a spare FOX and Brand X post but as soon as swapped back to the One Up post it came back, was very strange!
