Just don't look at it when they ask you your name

I'd say for questions you'll ask its fine. Shows you thought about it before the interview. Taking notes about something on your CV would make me, as an interviewer think its a fabricated story.

I always do - you should be well prepped and have some intelligent questions to ask at the "do you have any questions" bit.

Every interview I have been on in the last 10 years has involved some kind of presentation or prepared task. Few people are slick enough to do that without notes !

Although taking notes as the interviewers talk would probably be frowned on...

I'd probably say notebook in pocket, then take notes during the any questions phase. If they tell you not to bother get the hint...

it is a well-established piece of good stw practice that you write down the names of your interviewers beforehand but I wouldn't go pulling your willy out actually during the interview - unless it's appropriate at the time, of course

I've always done it, usually for the questions that I want to ask, more recently to just give me a couple of prompts on the competency based examples - I hate competency based interviews and a couple of prompts keeps me sane.

Notes show you have prepared, suggesting some interest in the role. And I've never been asked to show my notes, they don't know if it's a fabricated story or I'm working on my grocery shopping list.

Good luck to the OP - I start a new role in one months time.

Defiantly take notes with you. It shows an extra level of preparedness which may stand you out in front of the other candidates. It is not an exam, it's an interview,. You should also ask questions to see if you think you will fit in within the organisation, thus writing down the answers to questions which you have prepared is a good idea.

Remember to be positive in the interview! Have a positive attitude!

Good luck!

Tell them you have a tablet with you to take notes. Then play Kandy Krush all through will some well-timed "yessss!" thrown in to make them think you're excited about the job.

I'm in the for you asking the questions it's Ok but for them asking no, camp. To me it shows you're not prepared for your interview. Maybe I'm too harsh but every candidate I've put throw an interview has done well so I must be doing something right. 😀
