Had my forks upside down yesterday and randomly decided to let the air out and refil them.
Only loads 10-20ml of aerated oil came out of the air chamber.
The oil had a green tint (I’d just changed the oil in the damper leg and the oe oil is red)

    Is this bad?

    What forks?

You’ve lost some oil so it ain’t great but it’s probably not as much as you think (If it was all spewing out, why didn’t you stop?) so it’s not end of days.

Usually the oil in the damper cartridge is sealed in, so to lubricate the bushings in the lowers there’s 10-15ml in the bottom of each leg as well. Might be an idea to replace it.

It’s not damper or bushing oil!
You need a little oil in the air chamber to lubricate the piston seal.
If you’ve let that much out, I’d suggest putting some back in, since you probably don’t have much left in there.

    They are Fox Talas 100-120-140.

I know there is the correct amount of oil for damping in the damping leg – because I put it in.
I also know there is the correct amount in the air cart. leg as I also put the correct amount in during the oil change service.
    as per the instructions: http://www.foxracingshox.com/fox_tech_center/service_videos.htm

I’m talking about 20ml of green frothy oil coming out of the aircap

according to the site: record 35/2007 Talas. should only have a few ml of fluid in the air chambers.

I suppose I should be asking how did that much green oil get in the air chamber???

there is meant to be float fluid in the air chamber to lubricate as said above,20mls is four teaspoons and there shouldn’t be that much!
