Oakley spares for older glasses (crosslink fits)

Struggling to find new rubbers for my ~5 year old crosslink fits ox8136
Genuine or hooky.
Need new nose pads for the fit nose piece and I need a whole. New lifestyle nose pad as it’s disappeared into the realms of the wife’s car.
Oakleys(normally ace) CS are either ignoring or don’t have the answer …..
I’d rather not scrap a perfectly serviceable pair of specs for about 30 quid in parts (at Oakley rates)
Do any of the crosslink models fit -are all the nose pieces the same ?

Yeah, they’ve stopped being ace. I wanted similar (a part to go on the arm) and the answer was that the glasses were out of warranty. When I said I’d happily pay for the part, I was told they don’t stock parts for glasses that old, and here’s a voucher for 30% off a new pair.
hot_fiatFull MemberGenerally Oakley drop support now after a hideously short 18months. I wanted lenses for my carbon shifts and was resolutely told by customer service they were no longer supported. I’ve seen the same with ski goggles and my split jackets a few years ago. You used to be able to go into a store (or eve better the factory in Irvine) and they’d have a rummage and turn up something, but no longer.
There’s a gap in the market for good sports-centric glasses, with hope-esque customer service. Luttoxiter have well and truly shafted them.
sandboyFull MemberMy kids are Oakley fans due to me going on and on about their Customer Support. It’s a real shame it’s no longer what it was.

SunGod. British Cycling are supplied by them, as are other teams and athletes. British company set up by a husband and wife a few years ago.
Anyone wanting replacement lenses, contact The Sunglass Fix, they offer a service where you send them the frames, and specify the lens type/coating and they can do a custom fit. I’ve got several pairs of Oakley frames that were only available for Rx (prescription) lenses, but after my prescription changed, and I couldn’t justify the cost, I just stashed them away; (two pairs have titanium rimless frames). They do Arnet, Rayban, and loads of others.

Re: Crosslink nosepiece – is it like this?
trail_ratFree MemberMight be that but hard to tell hence asking if all crosslink range shared nose pieces
Disappointing Oakley gone to the dogs.
Who to go to for day to day prescription eyewear now then I wonder

Well, there are other Crosslink nose-pieces available through Amazon/eBay, surely it’s easy to tell from the photos which fits your frame.

Prescription sunglasses? SunGod do prescription versions of their regular sunglasses, but they don’t have a wide range like Oakley.
You can always buy second hand Oakleys off eBay, and get Sunglass Fix to put prescription lenses in…
trail_ratFree Membersurely it’s easy to tell from the photos which fits your frame.
Without a scale no not really.
No prescription specs to see day to day.
Buying more used glasses doesn’t really solve the no spares issue.
Anyway looking into it luxottica own 80% of the prescription glasses frames and lense companies. So hard to get away from them….. Unless I go to specsavera which id rather not. I’ve used them a few times over the years to tide me. Over or for work specs for field work -and they always end up uncomfortable over time.
a11yFull MemberThat’s disappointing to hear about the change in Oakley customer service. I’ve had nothing but Oakleys for 20+ years and had great service in the past.
Had 3 sets of lenses arrive from The Sunglass Fix last week – first time using them and the lenses appear to be excellent quality and a perfect fit (3 different styles of Crosshair – not all mine!).
DickBartonFull MemberOakley was sold on to the Italian company several years ago…and at that point the spares seemed to drop off a cliff.
I’ve got 2 pairs of Crosslinks…actually, I’ve got one and I’ve another that are like Crosslinks. Anyway, both are about 8 years old. I’m needing new legs and I think the only ones I’ve found are on Aliexpress but I’ve a fear of paying the price and then they don’t fit for some reason. I’ve got 4 or 5 spare legs for them but they are well used and out of shape and the ones I’m using now are starting to go out of shape.
My Crosslink nosepiece looks nothing like the one shared above…
Spares would be ideal, but given how often Oakley create new frames, I’m not surprised they don’t keep spares after 18 months these days, a real shame.
b33k34Full MemberThe thing you have to be careful of buying from Aliexpress is Oakley ‘Asian fit’ which have different nosepieces to fit ‘flatter’ asian faces. Theres a regular and an asia fit version of a lot of Oakley frames – Asian sellers might not highlight that.
