Need to get some samples tested, does anyone know a company that analyses samples/sends out test kits?

Thanks

Try your local water companies labs, if they won't do it they'll probably be able to point you in the right direction. Won't be cheap though...

I'm a microbiologist but never done any typing on mould, just general yeast and mould tests. The English water companies have bigger labs that do a wider range of tests (not just on water) than we did.

P.S. we had a minimum charge of £250/month and that was over 5 years ago.

We used to use a company to do this for us but now we have in house capability. I can't remember who, will look up when I'm in work.

Otherwise, try your local Univ. A lot of these offer consultancy services.

try your local county council analytical services (scientific services), we use a combination of them and our own labs, but we have a minimum order of £100.00 so so if you only have a couple check your local labs first.

Out of professional interest why do you want to ID them and do you want to genus level (not to costly but of limited use) or do you want exact speciation?

Even if you ID something fun like aspergillus to genus level it's only a limited number of species within the genus that are actually opportunistic pathogens in susceptible individuals.

It depends what you want the information for, most labs will give you the data but without decent interpretation of the data by someone who knows what they're doing you can easily go off an aright old tangent

theotherjonv- cool let me know chap.
Yep university is probably a good idea indeed, i need to identify specifically the presence of Candida as I have been ill with intestonal overgrowth (lovely) and need to know if the mould here has been causing it or not.
Just for peace of mind really and to know whether clean-ups need to be done.

Walla - where did you get your diagnosis of Candida from? Its often at best a very dubious diagnosis used by quacks

Could try some of our lot here: http://www.hpa.org.uk/web/HPAweb&Page&HPAwebAutoListName/Page/1222236703354, I have no idea what they may be able to offer but could direct you to somewhere that could if they can't.

Del- would if I could but its all over I'd never be able to get it all.
