It has a larger footprint than my Berlingo 5 seater but with much less space inside. Id happily buy another Berlingo when the time comes.

Berlingo, the car nobody wants, the car everybody needs*

If it’s the older van-based Berlingo/Partner, I drove a great many of them, ex-Motability vehicles. And I hated every one that I had to drive. Dreadful driving position, impossible to move the seat back far enough to stretch my legs out, forcing my legs into a really cramped position, and a footrest alongside the clutch pedal prevented me from putting my foot alongside the pedal. A part of me died inside every time I was tasked with picking one up to deliver it a couple of hundred miles away.
I drove dozens of different types of vehicle, hundreds in total, I don’t think there’s any I disliked as much as those.

The newer ones are a huge improvement though.

@CZ. So essentially you are saying that the current models do not suffer from the bad points that you mentioned in the bulk of your post?

We’ve had estates for years , fitting bikes in is one of the prime considerations when we change . The SUV trend seems to have been a triumph of marketing to me . 2 E Bikes led down front wheels off comfortably. By contrast my mates Kuga is always faff trying to work out the right configuration whenever it’s his turn to drive 🙄

The marketing men seem to have created the opposite of the original Mini and the TARDIS 🤔 Large on the outside small on the inside 🙄

Not quite an SUV but how about a BMW 2 Series Gran Tourer? Pretty much the X1 in a slightly different skin with a bigger boot

I saw one of these when out riding yesterday and wondered what it was. This says it’s actually based on the Mini platform – which makes sense.  FWD, normal ground clearance.

Has anyone got the current shape V60?

They seem bigger than the previous version and look lovely. I’m thinking about replacing my 2010 Mondeo on the next 6 months. Always lusted after a Volvo estate
