I like the look of the Advent X set up, and would be ideal on bike #2. Decent quality, plenty if range, cheap!

Try as I might, it seems available only in the US. Moore Large (UK distributor) not responding to an email. Bikester are selling a cassette.

Anyone know any place in Europe selling it?

I had a look at it, but ended up going with the new Deore 11 speed. Great bang for your buck.

You can deore for less, why risk it?

Not the Advent, but I went with an 11spd Microsoft XCD setup earlier in the summer.

Very pleased with it so far - was from Bike24 for about €115 (derailleur, shifter, and cassette).

Stuck the Advent 9 speed stuff on my new RocketMAX just because the idea (robust simplicity with a wide range) appealed to me. Might be a little touch of just wanting to be different in there too...

Only 5 or 6 rides on it so far but it hasn't missed a beat. Shifter feels really good. Shifts are a bit 'agricultural' but I've previously always used SRAM so that's actually familiar and fine. On 10 or 11 speed setups I habitually shift two cogs at a time so the wider gaps on a wide range 9 speed don't bother me at all.

Is assume the 10 speed setup is similar?

Not a complete set but have the 9 speed cassette.  Works fine. Possibly a little slower to shift then the XT cassette it replaced, but this could be due to the increased distance between jockey wheel and cassette, with the mech hanger extender fitted.

Have had 9 speed advent on a commute bike for about a year with no bother and got 10 speed a few months ago to replace a worn out 1x11 on a budget earlier in the year. Works great and feels about as robust as the slx it replaced and actually had a wider range 48t v 42t. A couple of things to think about though; the shifter is band only so for me had to compromise on positioning to get sitting nicely with brakes. I also struggled to find a long enough chain, most 10 speed were in the 114 link area which was just too short on a large 29er full suss, in the end found a kmc ebike chain which had enough length. Sorry can't help on sourcing, I bought from bike24 but they are now out of stock. Although advent works great not sure if value is worth it given risk of not being able to get replacement parts due to apparent rarity in uk

11spd Microshift available at Decathlon
Shifter.

Rear Derailleur

Good prices too, however be warned there stock levels are shite and may just randomly cancel your order saying theres no stock(which is what happened to me, so went with Deore M5100 rear derailleur, and a SLX shifter instead).

Thanks everyone.
Still looking at option TBH.The Deore 1 x 11 does look very tempting.

I looked at this for a budget bike I was building, but instead picked up a Deore 5100 11 speed mech (£40.49 Tweeks cycles), Sunrace 11-46 11 speed cassette (£46.99 Merlin), SLX 11 speed shifter (£27.50 Merlin) and a Sram PC1110 chain (£10 Merlin).

Cranks were the one thing I couldn’t find cheapy cheap for 1x though.

Does anyone know how robust the Microshift Advent X jockey wheels are? I can't find spares online and because the likes of Uber and Superstar aren't making patterns yet, I'd imagine these could be an achilles heel of the system.

Are the 11spd cassettes compatible with Shimano derailleurs and shifters? I asked about this in Decathlon but was told you need full Microsoft kit which seems a bit unlikely.

Kidsracing did have some in stock a while back, but it was when I was overseas (on the seas!) for work, and nobody home to take in any delivery!

Missed out on it that time.

I've haven't seen a single bad review yet. Yes you can pay more for better and lighter, but overall the price and performance seem unbeatable. Grr...

I ordered mine from Wiggle on Saturday and they arrived on Sunday.

I did the first ride last night using the existing Shimano Cassette as I am still waiting on the amazingly priced Microshift wide range cassette and it was great, nice shifting and no issues.

I would happily recommend this as an option if you are looking or a decent value groupset. I have used this to switch my Orange RX9 to 1x using the Shimano GRX cranks and the Microshift mech and shifters. Once the new cassette arrives I think it will be ideal.

Does look good value.
If I could find a cheap 650B gravel frame I'd chuck the 1x9 11-42t on it.

@gilesmartin81 What brake calipers are you using with those levers? Any comments?
