Once upon a time you sent me a message. It was brief, but very important to me at the time, and I have no doubt it contributed (along with the comments of others) to my continued survival.
I think there is a strong message in this thread about obtaining better knowledge regarding CPR. I know when i’m out, many of us are of an age where the increased heart rate is likely to increase the chances of heart issues. I wonder how many of us would be able to deal with the situation if it arose…
Merlinman +1 – always assumed he was Mr Health! Glad he’s stabilised and fingers crossed for a full and swift recovery – awful news 🙁
For those asking about CPR, all you need to do is keep the blood circulating with chest compressions to the beat of Nellie the Elephant. Breathing for the casualty not so important but won’t do any harm.
Get well soon Simon, and thanks to the lads who were there for quick thinking / cool heads don’t think I’d have been thinking straight in that situation.
Blackpool Vic is a fantastic Hospital IMO, they have saved 2 of my Mates in the past few years so Simon is in good hands.
Always shocking when fit and healthy people have heart attacks. I can’t say we’ve ever seen eye to eye on anything, but all the very best to you Simon.
