I too have a virtually unused LP12. I was a very early adopter of CD. Frankly they do everything better than LP, except art work and sleeve notes. That’s not to say LPs sound bad, they can sound very pleasant, but they’re not accurate. That doesn’t matter too much for rock and pop as you’ve no idea what the engineer / producer intended them sound like anyway, but for classical and especially chamber or vocal music, digital was a vast step forward. Digital downloads too can be very good depending on format. many classical labels sell downloads in formats which outperform CD (if your ears can actually tell the difference). Apple Lossless from iTunes fine.
