Bags are only acceptable if they are army surplus. Polish gas mask bag from ebay, perfect for the incognito photographer about town.

Do you people not have hands?

You walk around town all day with a tablet in your hand? That sounds practical. What if you need a slash?

I tend to rock the trying-not-to-look-like-a-businessman, more-like-an-outdoory-(but smart) look with a bright green one of theses. 8)

That’s nice too, but you know you’ve crossed a line when the colour scheme is “Tan / Otter”.

Interesting how this thread has quickly developed from a pisstake to uber chic. I suspect the former posters have spent the night on their iPads googling satchels and think “hmmm, I might just need one… ”

Hmmm.. has to be said, some of us have been hacking the manbag around for quite some time.

The oppotunity to take the piss is a huge one when you posted the satchel.

    Sorry.

But we do like you so don’t get all flouncepants. 😆

pig bags, is Amanda still making them in Hamble?

I’ve got a bad feeling they’ve closed down or scaled right back, they are not in the unit they used to be in just opposite the football fields. They are a great little company and I’ve bought lots from them, sheet bags, cockpit and interior stowage, boom covers etc

I used to use a backpack but it’s PITA on the tube and encourages you to carry too much stuff, the iPad sized manbag which replaced it is perfect. My Scaramanga one was recommended to my by mate who specialises in digital architectural imagery – so he must be cool as that’s a creative industry 8)

    I’ve got a bag more like mattoutandabout’s…

It’s a Manfrotto Unica V messenger bag thing, like this:

    Photo linked from bryanjeanblog.com

and gets usd for work. It’s too big, to be honest, but I bought it to use as a camera bag for when I am out and about, as well as sticking stuff to take to work in it.
I debated getting it to take my camera with me on honeymoon, but decided it wouldn’t be big enough (wanted it for hand luggage too) so went for a Kata pack instead.
But, this is good for day trips and stuff as it’ll take the camera body with standard lens, another lens, flash, bottle of water, mini tripod (that I am yet to treat myself to, etc.)

    I have quite a nice collection…

    One of these from/for work:

    One of these for off-duty:

The workshop where they’re made is about 5 minutes from where I live in Karen.

And one of these for a gym bag:

Why are people carrying tablets around with them? Is that not what smartphones are for?

Oh yeah, forgot that, got one of these Maxpedition bags for a grab bag kept in the work issue safari-spec 110 Defender (photos to follow for the LR fetishists):
