if you compare it to the frankly amazing Alison Goldfrapp (was that really live?) and the chap on the keyboards, they were a bit, well, simple.

You don’t have to like them, but this might help explain why they’re more worthy of inclusion on Jools’ muso wankfest than many of his guests…

joking aside Jools has tended to provide one of the few slots for new bands amongst the more established acts, this series has been all fairly bland with the odd dolop of shite thrown in … where’s the emerging talent ?

    Balls!
    Chas & Dave are/were a 70s novelty act.
Next week on Later, a duet – Joe Dolche and Mr Blobby covering a Black Lace classic.

    it doesn’t really explain that.
and the beauty of Jools is its eclectic mix – in terms of musical styles, tastes and also abilities.
for me it provides moments of WOW! (Goldfrapp last night) along with moments of WTF! (Radkey last night).
    That’s why it’s so good.
(although I do hate the pandering to some ancient acts/ mates and their relatively pathetic attempts at continuing to be musicians)

Dave played bass on the main sample used on Eminem’s ‘My name is’.

This fact pleases me enormously for some reason.
