Basically i’m after a cottage that sleeps 2, must allow dogs and should have a view that makes her go WOW, right out the door.
Ideally close to a stunning beach(dogs allowed) with loads of awesome scenic walking from the door.

The rough plan will be to use it as a base for a week, but spend one or two days walking out to either spend a night or two in a Bothy or Wild camp. Nowhere over run with tourists and in a pretty isolated location. So long as we can get hold of provisions enroute and mid week.

Anyone got any gems that they know of that tick these boxes?

More than aware of midges, she’s been warned and seems carefree about it(though they do like her). But June, July, Aug or September is fine.

    Thanks.

Arran. Ticks all the boxes. Plenty cottages, awesome high level walks, as scary as you want, gorgeous beaches and accessible for suvverners. Only an hour or so over the boarder. If ye want more info, email in profile.

First place that sprung to mind was my granny’s house in Tighnabruaich – but Alasdair beat me to it – looks like just the job. Fill yer boots!

September would be good, i’ve not been, but i’ve been to sutherland and if its peace your after this is the place, and it ticks one or two of your boxes, looks popular by the amount of time its booked up too!

I stayed at Burnbank lodges, no beach but everything else ticks the boxes, view of the river was awesome in the morning.

Went, to a few places around there on hols when younger. Amazing place, chomping at the bit to go back.

would defiantly recommend this area, easy to get to from Glasgow and beautiful!

Blue reef cottage, Isle of Harris.

    Then thank me. 😉

Not for the dent in your wallet though. 😯

Edit: No pets allowed. Maybe not then.

Try riverview cottage shielfoot Acharacle it’s absolutely superb

Carradale is one of my favourite places in the world. Port Righ is an AMAZING place to camp. Plenty of walks / biking from the doorstep. Something like this….

We stopped in comraich, on Here, it’s a little bigger than you ask for but it’s utterly gorgeous and isolated apart from a hamlet of houses and a pub which did amazing fish and chips on a Friday, hopefully it still does.
Short ferry ride to mull and stunning scenery.
