i have got the apple logo screen

keep trying the usual method of toggling the hold switch and holding down menu and the centre button, but it just keeps going back to the logo screen

Plug it into the computer?

As above, plug it in for a while n see what happens. Is the battery completely drained?

Try banging it on the table – it has worked for me. Or drop it on the floor from a couple of feet.

It’s dead, it was linked to a “life” monitor attached to Steve Jobs.
Now he is gone All Apple devices will start to die.. 8)
OR as they say on the ‘IT Crowd’, have you tryed turning it off and back on again?

If it does that much, it ain’t dead. Loads online about full restores from DFU mode – fixed mine a while back.
