    My brother gave my daughter his old iphone 3gs which was on vodaphone.She is on orange with a blackberry bold so has gone got the phone unlocked “jailbreaked” ,it now works on orange but she apparently cant use new apps or itunes because of this jailbreak so no better than her blackberry.Is there anything she/we can do to allow her to use the phone with itunes etc.Iknow sfa about these things and so I am looking for help or advice.     Restore the device, then take it to the phone provider to be unlocked.

    I just phoned vodaphone and they sorted it out with apple. Might take a couple of days to come through and unlock.

    Thanks I’ll ring my brother later and ask him to do this for her.Will this jailbreak thing she has had done be a problem?

    Probably not; may need to put the iPhone into DFU mode (Google exact instructions, but it’s just a sequence of pressing power & Home button) prior to connecting to iTunes on a Mac or PC to get the unlock to take effect.
