    Hi folks

Due to issues we have been having recently with out neighbour, along with their previous history of unstable behaviour, I am in urgent need of a couple of wireless and easy to use cameras to fix on my house.

I know nothing about this sort of camera but if possible would like to fit 2, one front, one back, that can be monitored remotely via an Android app and have some sort of recording facility, on card or cloud ( preferably cloud if it’s cheap/free).

Night vision and motion notification/sensors are a must.

If course as cheap and as excellent quality as possible is essential ?

    Any recommendations are much appreciated,

    Cheers

Not up on latest systems but my Eufy camera system has been fairly reliable (entering 4th year) and meets all the above (when on sale).

I went for the a couple Pro 2 models (combined with a doorcam 2K) and the rechargeable batteries are lasting 5-6 months between charges. Data is stored local on the hub (no charges) but accessible from app anywhere. Worth a look.

I really like Tapo cameras, massive range from cheapo (£20) ones that I use for wildlife cameras to full-colour night vision. Wired power and battery/solar options. Always seem to be deals at Amazon also! All Wi-Fi although most of the bigger ones can optionally be wired. The app is decent & you can pay for cloud storage (or record for free onto SD card). They don’t really push this fact but they’re also full IP cameras so you can also use them with a hardware or software NVR (I use Frigate, which is free/open-source) rather than being tied into their app/ecosystem, which is the best thing about them really (that and the price!)

I’ve got a blink camera and doorbell set-up. A doddle to get up and running and you can use cloud or local storage and connect it to your Amazon Echoes if you have any.

We have Ring cameras front and back (both running on battery power so very easy to set up). Good quality cameras, good night vision, two-way audio, cloud back-up (at a cost), siren, motion notifications (that are customisable). They are very easy to set up and it’s equally easy to add further cameras if required. Amazon regularly has deals on them (especially if you buy multiple items).

Cheers for suggestions so far. I hadn’t thought of incorporating a doorbell camera as well (we don’t actually have a pushbutton doorbell at the moment, only a proper ‘clanger operated’ type bell, which no-one uses for some reason).

I use wired but I’ve been happy with Reolink and they have wireless ones too. Fit a local microSD card and it’ll put recordings on there (which you then access via the app/cloud), you can have it FTP or email as another backup if you don’t have a recording server. Good person/vehicle/pet detection these days too (for alerting and triggering recording) rather than relying on motion.

Remember that if you want IR night vision then they need to be outside, if they’re inside a window then the IR just reflects back into the lens.

Thanks again for the recommendations and suggestions – especially @simon_g as I’d not thought about the IR reflecting if I was to to put one in a window (this was one of my original plans).

I’ve picked up a set of the Blink cameras, sync & doorbell camera off Amazon (cheap and sound easy to set up) and will be setting them up as soon as they arrive.
