Shand? Because they are local to me and create beautiful bikes and I could go for a full custom build

But how did you know it existed?

Again: advertising isn’t always bollocks. Sometimes it’s just letting people know about your product so that they decide if they are interested or not. That works on you, as it should.

However all the for sale board did was tell me it was available

A for sale board might be very trad and old school, but it is surely the epitome of advertising that something is for sale.

On the fatbike think, I probably think it’s a gimmick cos I’m not in that niche East Lothian market segment where they make sense. Haven’t seen one on the downs for years, and they don’t really work down here.

I see lots of gravel bikes, and lots lined up outside coffee shops and in the LBSs, cos they do make some sense here, but for me they too are a segmented marketing gimmick.

However what are clearly not a marketing gimmick are downcountry bikes, yes they are the dogs doodads!  I’m sure some of you will think I’ve been had, but in my niche I’m very happy. And I’m off for my Sunday Social on it in a few mins. Have a lovely ride everyone 😀
