    Sorry, this is a bit grim. If a woman had gone to the gynaecologist, who had sent her for an internal examination under general anaesthetic, which had uncovered "cysts" requiring further investigation, how worried should one be?

    Hard to say without more information.

    Could be PCOS, could be fibroids, could be other.

    I am aware it's easy to say this (& harder to do it) but the best thing really is to try not to get too concerned until the tests are back.

    could be ovarian cyst? My cousin had one, was quite big so needed removing, but perfectly harmless.

    If he said "cysts", probably no need to be worried.
    But I'm no medic.
