what would be your specialist subject?

I’m a bit of a jack of all trades, master of none, so struggling to think of something I would be able to answer 15 questions on. Maybe causes of death in sheep in the UK 🙂

Oscar Wilde. The specialist subject questions are fairly easy as whenever a subject comes up that I know a bit about the questions are to particularly hard. My problem would be general knowledge where I typically only get about 4 or 5 so no chance of winning.

For me first choice would have to be The history of polar exploration.

I’ve seen British military aircraft of World War Two on as specialist subject twice, and both times I’ve got more right than the contestant, but I’d choose post-war British military aircraft. Or the novels of Iain M Banktto give me an excuse to read them again.

Buffy the Vampire Slayer, the TV series. I’d need to revise though, 144 episodes.

Like Welshfarmer I’m probably better at general knowledge though, tend to get more than the contestants.

It would be the EEC Public Procurement Directives of the early 90s. I could probably still quote chapter and verse from them now, yet I couldn’t even tell you the number of the current directives.

Round 2 would have to be on Star Wars A New Hope.

Buffy the Vampire Slayer, the TV series. I’d need to revise though, 144 episodes.

That would be one of mine also, currently working through a rewatch of BtVS and Angel myself. With a bit of revision I could probably field the collected Whedon works.

Hitch-Hiker’s Guide to the Galaxy would probably be my first choice (books 1-4 anyway). This popped up on that Million Dollar Question TV show a while back, I got more right than the contestant did.

Red Dwarf perhaps, first half-dozen series anyway. The rest after a few rewatches.

I kinda know a bit about computers, but I can’t fathom how to frame that as a Mastermind subject.

General knowledge would be what legs me up. I know a lot of obscure crap but “general” knowledge evades me. I couldn’t tell you who won the World Cup last year or who got knocked out of Strictly this week, but if you need the Infinite Lives POKE for Jet Set Willy on the ZX Spectrum I’m your man.
