Cleaning? Dirty Bobs staring me down, I’m winning by being on the sofa. I’ll clean it after tomorrow’s ride as I think it’s going to be more of the same conditions..

I nearly always stop off at my local jet wash, do the bike, then do me. 😆

Started in the rain which turned in to a blizzard which turened into rain, which turned into snow and repeat.

I’m building myself up to go out between rain showers tomorrow. I feel odd / guilty when I don’t ride, which apparently is a psychological issue. 😯

Had a cold this week, thought i was over it so went for a ride.

20 simple miles (mtb) have completely wiped me out, shivering, coughing and aching all over 🙁

Really didn’t feel like going out today, looking at the rain and sleet pelting down before I left, but it was a great ride in the end. The weather eased off a bit while we were out, although the trails are still a sodden, gloopy, eroded mess. 18 mile loop – where we joined up a few of the good bits with no lengthy padding-out sections in between. On the singlespeed, and the new wonky chainring worked a treat – cleaned two climbs I’ve never singlespeeded all the way up before. 😀

Went for a run. Kids rode their bikes with me. Did about 3 miles. Haven’t run for ages. Was ace. Spend enough time on the bike during the week, kids too but on the cargo bike, so they were itching to get out on their own two wheels.

At least I’ll have riding partners today. That’s if anyone turns up, all media has gone totally silent.

6 hour road ride yesterday in the rain through the mountains of Snowdonia. Good ride and great company with the local club, but bike and kit absolutely coated in grit and road dirt 🙁

Having cleaned it all up last night, I don’t know if I can face another ride out in the rain today!

It’ll get better with the kids

Out of the 3 we have at home, 2 are never home at weekends and the other one locks himself in his room surfing for porn and playing his XBox.
Me and the missus could almost be chasing each other around the house nekkid again.

I was looking forward to heading out on the ss roadi’bike t’day after a couple of decent runs last week rekindled my love for the “thrum…thrum…thrum” of tyres on tarmac but i’ve just been outside to chop my logs for the coming week and my fingers have turned white wi the cold (raynauds syndrome) so that’s my ride idea ****, 😥 , gonna go a drive to the shore wi the dog instead then i’ll open a bottle of red and read a book….ho-hum, #sickofthisfkinweatheriwanttolivesomewherewarmsoicanrideallyearround

SF I was thinking of how nice a fixed/free would be in this weather when you’re on you’re own.

    “Cry me a River”

Holy moly, that was one of the most bonkers rides I’ve had in a long while. It’s not raining here, it’s torrential. The lanes are just rivers masquerading as Tarmac lanes, scree covered blankets of sodden asphalt, flint thorns just waiting for victims. Wild and mad and yet just hilarious. 47 miles of sodden squelchy hands and feet, beanie dripping in my eyes, the faint orange tint of my shades blanking out the sodden grey misty mulch. I thought after a couple of hours I’d had enough but the body kept going, second wave of endorphins and humour made for a roll back to the van hilarious with me shouting Boonen, where’s Boonen? I was turning a little delirious. Then 100 mtrs from the van the bike gave up, the faint hint of a hisssssssss pfffftttt and a rear puncture wobble ensued, I laughed out loud for the final walk to the van, my bike broke before I did.

68 fixed gear miles in atrocious conditions today, felt goooood. Got that nice ache in my legs now.

3 x 20 min intervals on the turbo for me, one of the more tedious workouts. If it wasn’t for baby blobby sleeping upstairs I’d have been out battling the elements… honest!

Is that the lane up to Cheriton from the A272?

I am local and around for riding once the monsoon season is over.
Currently carrying my ‘spare tyre’ which has to go , have road and mtb bikes available

Pm if you want as Im in N. A . most days for work

STM, it’s the lane from Durley to Upham so a bit further down the Downs. Though when I got to Cheriton later in the ride it was the same, in fact it was pretty much the same all over the bumps, except the steep bits.

If you are up for a ride, deffo go out to play..

Oh no what do I wear today?

Icy now, but what about when it’s 12.30, will it still be freezing or will it be warm?

    The horror!

I’m having that problem too. Out at 09.30 for 2/3 hours on my TT bike. Do I sacrifice warm clothing for the sake of aerodynamic drag or aerodynamic clothing for the sake of warmth?

    Problems, problems, problems! 😕

Well the answer should have been full face and pads. Just had the clubs biggest pile up, a wet road suddenly became sheet ice, no chance on the bend…..except for yours truly going into CX mode and staying upright.

Road ride today. Fed up of the mtb maintenance although maybe a night ride on tues.

Just getting back into skinny tyres after over a decade of mtb dominated riding and feeling motivated to get out and explore the lanes and try and remember how to ride one of the twitchy little things properly.

Didnt wrap up enough today and was frozen through in 90minutes but still had a great time although probably only managed ‘touring’ pace overall with map stops and the like.

Well, 15 miles, three coughing fits each one nearly decorating the pavement with breakfast. I’ve never felt so shite on a bike.

    *is depressed* 🙁
