Ran out of skillz and went down hard, like sack of cement, last friday, on a washed out rocky section.
Pretty sure the temple of my helmet took the vast majority of it, so while im on soup for a few more days while my jaw fixes, im shopping for a new helmet.
Last time i went into a bike shop (to buy a Giro Xen), i found that the Xen wasnt really doing it for me, while the Giro Hex (its cheaper little brother) was very comfortable indeed.
Since then ive had 3 Hex's Have things moved on in the past 5 or 6 years?
Worth bothering to go and try something else (and inveitably more expensive) on, or just go with old faithful in a fourth colour option.
Contact Giro via their website and you should be able to get a discount on a replacement. I think I got 40% off replacing a Giro Fixture. Got the MIPS version cheaper than the non-MIPS from them, so was a no-brainer 🙂 Fixture is a great value lid, if you're cost conscious.
I did the same and ran out of skill and broke my brand new Bell Super 3R.
Got in touch with Bell and they gave me 50% off a new Super Air R.
Just had to wait a few days.
