Giant Anthem 2013 (26" wheels, 100mm travel).
Bird Aeris Mk1.

Still got both but only ride the Aeris.

If I had spare money and lots of room then I might look at a 29er HT, but I have neither!

Si

Oh God. This will show me up as the serial bike swapper that I know I am, but always try and deny.

Cotic Bfe
Cotic Roadrat Alfine
Cotic Escapade SS
Trek Fuel EX9 29er
Genesis Day One SS
Transition Trans AM 29er
Trek Stache 7

In my (albeit crap) defense only four of them were new. I'm left with just the Stache now. Really regret selling the Escapade. Should have kept it and just added gears.

Now selling the Stache and looking longingly at a Vagabond. Family and work commitments mean it would make more sense.

The most recent purchase (Optic) involved a part-ex, and in the last 3 years I've sold 1 bike and given 1 bike away. Currently own 8...

Alpine 160 (for sale)
Norco Optic
Voodoo Wazoo
Cannondale SuperX CX race bike
Saracen Hack (insurance write off, now CX pit bike)
Giant Contend Disc commuter (insurance replacement)
Reilly T325 cafe/club run road bike (personal injury payout from same accident)
Lapierre Xelius racing/training road bike.

Shopping for a TT bike if/when Alpine sells 😳

2012 Zesty 714 - still got it and ride it most of the time

2014 OnOne c456 - still got it and ride it when A) my back isn't broken and B) it's muddy outside

2016 Mondraker Dune XR - still got it and ride it on the 'big' stuff (Bike parks, Alps, towpaths that sort of thing.......)

However, very few of the parts stay the same. On my Zesty, the only original 2012 part is the seat post QR clamp....... 😆

No different bikes in the last 5 year. I have the same bikes today that i had 5 years ago, the newest is just over ten years old.

Should I immediately delete my account?

Gone;

Cotic Soul 26" - wheels are too tiny
Unbranded TT bike - unused
HED road bike - BB area frame fail

In;
Kinesis FF29 - only MTB
Genesis Day One Alfine - the Sunday cafe via the woods pootler
Kinesis Crosslight 5T - commuter and beast of burden
Scott Carbon road thing - for occasional Lycra cat suit rides

I think these are all within the timeframe but I'm not that sure if I'm honest.

2011 Orange 5 - still got but has been through 3 different builds so that's technically 3 versions!
2009 GT Avalanche - sold after 5 months.
Boardman Hybrid Comp - still got but about to strip it and bin the frame after I got knocked off it and the compo cheque has cleared.
2015 Trek Fuel EX 7 27.5 - still got.
2016 GT Traffic 2.0 - bought as a temporary commuter, still got but will be going soon.
2017 Marin Nicasio - bought to try out road and gravel riding, now the commuter with the odd Sunday bimble.

That's going back 4 years, I think I've failed on keeping to my '1 new bike a year' rule 😳

My list

OO Carbon 456
OO 456
OO Fatty
Dartmoor Primal Plus
Nukeproof Mega 2013
Turner 5Spot 2012
Knolly Delirium Mk1
Knolly Delirium 2016
Bird Aeris Mk1
Saracen Ariel
NS Snabb Enduro
Saracen Tenet

To be honest I've probably forgotten one or two.

All self built from frames with the exception of the Tenet.

Stand outs were the 456, 5Spot, Mega and my current and Primal and Snabb. The Snabb is a very recent arrival and so far it's turning out to be the stiffer, more robust replacement for the Aeris I was hoping it would be.

Low points were the Ariel, the CTD shoch was, erm shocking and it was returned due the bushing issues they all had. Then there was the 2016 Delirium. This arrived with a misaligned frame which wouldn't accept the rear axle, once I'd managed to remove it in the first place that is. A new rear triangle didn't fix the problem and after over two months sat in its box the frame was finally returned for a refund, unbuilt and unridden.

Same 2 bikes since 2012

Cotic BFe
Tansition Covert

What's truely embarrasing is they are both on the original drivetrains 😳

Dialled PAC frame has been waiting to be built up for 5 years now 😐

Retired my Hemlock 2 years ago, got a BMC Trailfox to replace that but didn't quite gel so got a Remedy to replace that, still got it

Bought a Calibre Dune fatbike, still got it

Shortly after, sold my Ragley Ti as it just wasn't getting ridden enough and replaced it with a 3d printer and some wheels.

Bought an el cheapo carbon frame and built an XC bike, still got it

Bought an Onza Bird trials bike which I have essentially never ridden

Think that's it actually! May just have sold my Soda and built my commuter (a rather lovely Boardman with upgraded everything, which is now where old mtb standards go to die) in that window too.

So basically, I am going downmarket and less cool! Replaced a niche british bike with a niche swiss bike then with an incredibly mainstream mass market bike. Replaced a niche, titanium UK brand with a fatbike from a supermarket. And replaced another niche, titanium UK brand with a no-name chinese carbon bike.

Only 2, possibly 3 but I'm not sure on dates.

Let my rougher than rough Cove go a bit over a year ago.

And 'went 650b' with my lovely Intense Tracer, it's lovely and picking up the sorts of scrapes I like on my bikes...

Amazing! One bike only... I hardly have enough spare time to ride let along constantly buying and selling bikes. I think some of you put the LBS to shame!

I started 2013 with a Cotic Soul and Cotic >X<. Then...

2014: sold >X< frameset and replaced with Cotic Escapade; sold Soul and built-up a Stooge
2015: sold Stooge; built up a Cotic Soul 275
2016: built Kinesis 4S Disc; sold Cotic Escapade; bought Surly Ogre
At end of 2016 (!): bought Surly Straggler; sold 4S and Ogre and consolidated best bits
2017: built up a Transition Scout, based on used frame and parts from Soul 275 (which is now a rigid singlespeed)

In my defence - I self-build my bikes and sell the old parts, so the actual cost of all this change isn't quite as steep as it might otherwise be!

I started 2013 with a 1998 Rockhopper which never got used, then I bought (in classic mid life crisis style)

Sept 2013 - Ribble 7005
March 2014 - Boardman Comp which got rapidly upgraded into a Cotic Soul
September 2015 - 1995 Stumpjumper
March 2016 - Kinesis Tripster and sold the Ribble
March 2017 - Giant Trance 2 and sold the Stumpy

The ones left are keepers - I love the Cotic's looks and am dumbfounded by how flattering the Giant Trance is to my meagre skills.

Judging by the pattern above I'm due another new bike in september, can't wait to find out what it will be. I think need a snotter for leaving outside the shops. Quite fancy a low rent mid '90's GT or Kona.

Just realized had the same two bikes for five years now.
Trek 3900
[img] [/img]

Canyon Nerve XC 7.0
[img] [/img]

Both bikes have had most of the components replaced, with the hardtail in the lead having zero original parts remaining except the seat clamp! (actually the hydro brakes came from my previous bike).

This year I decided to skip the buying a whole new bike thing and build one up instead. It will be a 27.5" 1x11 130mm travel hardtail.

September 2013-

Owned: Pitch, Kona Kula and a Langster. Kula cracked so replacement was a Kona Unit.

Summer 2014: Stripped the Pitch and built a 456 evoII up.

Summer 2015: C2W Arkose, sold Langster.

Spring 2016: Stripped 456 and Unit to build a Solaris. 456 sold. Unit frame stashed.

Spring 2017: Built Unit back up.

In date order for the last eight years:

Specialized Roubaix (50th birthday present from my wife)
On One Pompetamine (commuter, waiting to be converted to a singlespeed)
Cotic Solaris (main MTB, struggle to justify any other mountain bike)
Genesis Croix de Fer (current commuter/winter road bike)
Singular Puffin fat bike

I did have a Marin Mt Vision that the Solaris replaced.

Hi fives jonny rocky mountain - some nice little bikes there too 😛

I'll go back just a year to try to save face 😳

2016
On-One Baby Fatty
2015 Kona Shred
1992 GT Talera
1999 Kona Muni Mula
Early 2Ks Santa Cruz Chameleon
1997 Dirt Research Bandelier
2016 Kona Shred Prime SE
2016 Mondraker Panzer 24
2014 Salsa Mukluk

2017
2014 Surly Pugsley
2016 Specialized Dolce Sport
2010 Kona Stinky 2-4
2008 Yeti 4X

It was all going so well this year until I decided to have a pre-retirement cull to save some $s - now I'm down to just my BMX (early 2Ks Dirt Bros Trail or Park) and everything else is on the 'bay. Sold my lovely little Cove Hooker and then the Bottlerocket as I felt all that travel would be burger all use to an old lady in the Blue Ridge mountains 🙄 but I'm struggling to find a replacement.

This is my only ride . . . for now . . .
