Ambleside/Windermere/Kendal area as we are dropping the lad off for a Jazz w/e in that area.

we’ve got two nights – Friday & Saturday

Sadly the bike(s) will stay at home, but we should get some walks in.

Royal oak in Braithwaite? Nice beer, nice food. Never stayed but I’ve camped nearby and was in a cottage over the Road a few weeks back.

A bit further up but lovelier.

Drunken Duck just outside Ambleside. Was recommended by STWers and we stayed there in May. B&B plus restaurant/bar with good beer selection. Thread below posted some photos and others shared walk ideas (may have to adjust for weather)

we’ve stayed at Lattendales B&B, its very convenient as its in Ambleside…near the cinema…but that was 10 years ago before the kids arrived. theyre not really well suited for small kids so we’ve never gone back. but its a nice b&b.
we’ve also stayed in High Dale House which again is in Ambleside on Lake Road…this one was more suited to young families and we would book there again.
our last 2 visits have had us staying a short drive away at the Damson Dene Hotel in Crosthwaite…price was reasonable and the hotel wasnt too bad.

I’ve stopped at The Gables at the bottom end of Compston Rd which was decent – was going to stop there again last month but we decided not to head over for the sportive so cancelled.
